Jeff Wilson, Cartoonist!
My age belies me and Wikipedia denies me, but I am a cartoonist of some 30 years, with significant stints in photojournalism, scriptwriting, animation and film.
I don't consider myself unique, yet I can't say I know anyone else like me. I grew up on a farm, but never really fit into that role, even though I love the rural lifestyle and acknowledge it has played a large part in who and what I've become.
Also, I am a proud Metis, even though I didn't find out I was one until 7 years ago. I seek perfection in myself, goodness in others and expect nothing less in all that is around me.
I am most at home when I can create funny pictures and movies. Creating life in comic/animation form, or writing about characters fills me with awe and wonder. I'm probably the shiest, least conspicuous person you could meet, yet I've performed amid extreme extroverts in a student show on the Second City stage.
I should be kept in a cupboard on a shelf by your TV, but they still let me out on the streets. As a result, I'll probably keep doing stuff in an attempt to entertain you. Yes, you should be worried!
Some of the projects I've been privileged to take part in:
PROM NIGHT - 1980, (Storyboard artist, uncredited).
ADVENTURES OF TEDDY RUXPIN - 1987/88 (key animator/prop & model designer).
THE AVRIDGE FARM - 1987 - present (creator, writer, artist).
CHAPMAN'S ICE CREAM TV AD - 2000 (key animator, prop & model design and background artist).
WOLF DOG - 1958, (starting in 2004, researched the 1958 film, made in my hometown of Markdale, Ontario)
THE TRAVELLING MANNS - 2002 (unpublished strip created for U.S. publication, AAA Living).
